Live Sports Betting, e-Sports and More will Form Part of OLG’s New Gaming Platform

Canadian sports betting aficionados will soon be provided with an online betting platform that
they can access via the Ontario Lottery Gaming (OLG) online casino website. As it is, the
OLG is set to invest in a more advanced gaming platform. Single-event sport betting is still
not legal within the Canadian borders. Yet the OLG recognizes the fact that through the
Internet, Canadians place sports and other types of wagers with foreign sportsbook and esports betting sites.
In 2017, the OLG announced plans of accepting proposals for improving the digital
performance of their online gaming site.

The request for proposals though centered mainly
on digital technology advancements; mentioning improvements of responsible gambling
measures and enhancements of customer gaming experience. In light of the changes that
transpired in 2018, particularly the legalization of sports betting in some US states, OLG has
confirmed that their future operations may include live sports, esports and novelty betting as
well. That way, Ontario residents can access the products locally, instead of channeling their
transactions thru foreign betting sites.

Tony Bitonti, official spokesperson of OLG confirms that the company is open to integrating
other types of betting products. Additions may include live betting on sports and on
competitive video gaming. They believe that those are products that Ontarians would more
than welcome. as they will broaden the daily betting selection. However, Mr. Bitonti stated
that as of the moment, he has no additional details to provide regarding their potential
offerings.

Nonetheless, Bede Gaming, the UK company previously selected by OLG as new platform
provider, furnished details about their latest product and tool integrations.

Following OLG’s announcement of awarding its digital transformation contract to Bede
Gaming, the latter shared information on improvements made to their automated platform.
The UK firm’s content expansion and integrations will put in motion, BedePlay, its new
content aggregation technology. The Bede software includes sportsbook in SBTech and
Kambi, as well as virtual sports betting with Kiron Interactive. Bede Gaming aims to roll out
OLG’s new digital platform by 2020 using the software.

Moreover, other top online casino game providers in the likes of Habanero, PlayNGo,
Pragmatic Play and Yggdrasil Gaming, are all set to broaden Bede’s more than 3,000 quality
game contents. The new providers will join Bede’s existing big-name game suppliers such
as Microgaming, NetEnt, IGT, Novomatic, Evolution and Gamevy, just to name a few. In line
with their OLG contract, the award-winning UK firm also plans to enhance its portfolio with
additional lottery games.

The Commercial Director at Bede Gaming, Ross Haselhurst, commented that 2018 has so
far been their best year. Aside from the OLG, which is still their biggest commercial deal,
they were able to clinch 2 other major contracts. According to Haselhurst, 2018 also saw
them accomplish as many as 10 supplier content integrations; broadening their extensive
range of more than 100 of the leading supplier partners in the industry.
