Members of the UK Industry Comment on the Review of the UK Gambling Laws

The dust has finally settled regarding the news that the DCMS is going to launch a review into the Gambling Act of 2005. Many organizations in the industry voiced their reactions towards the upcoming Review of the UK Gambling Laws. The organizations that reacted to the announcement include the BGC (Betting and Gaming Council), the UKGC, William Hill, Flutter Entertainment, and GamCare.

The Betting and Gaming Council's Reaction to the UK Gambling Laws Review

The Chief Executive, Michael Dugher, commented that they strongly welcome the new review. He said that it is an excellent opportunity to create safer gambling for everyone. The CEO also added that the review and changes have to be evidence-led. He also made it clear that the government's changes to the UK Gambling Laws should strike a balance, so it does not push players to the unregulated black market.

The UKGC welcomes the review, which will also affect their resources and powers. The gambling commission's spokesperson stated that they look forward to providing advice to the government and have a close working relationship with the DCMS during the review.
