William Hill, one of the biggest UK gambling operators, has made an important announcement. The operator proudly announced that it changed all of its UK electricity supply to new renewable energy sources. It is one of the many big and essential steps that the operator is taking as a part of the company’s sustainability initiative drive. The UK gambling operator has made the switch from regular grid electricity to Total Gas and Power energy supplier. Total now relies 100% on renewable green electricity. These sources include hydroelectric, wind, and solar energy.
William Hill’s Switch to Renewable energy Sources in the United Kingdom
William Hill has stated that it is moving to a pure renewable green energy supply. It is going to save almost 61500 tonnes of CO2 over the 3-year contract. It is the equivalent of 38000 cars in the United Kingdom or even 16,667 1-way flights from London to Las Vegas in the USA. William Hill’s initiative is one of many sustainability drives that the operator is focusing on currently. The UK operator is currently focusing on becoming greener and less CO2-intensive. The initiative would also include the introduction of smart metering across all of its retail betting shops, which should start rolling out this year.
David Medori, William Hill’s chief procurement officer, stated that they are prioritizing the environment. The environment is extremely important to William Hill and everyone else. He added that they are committed to transforming William Hill into a Carbon Neutral Business. The company has established pretty aggressive targets over five years regarding carbon dioxide reduction on water, energy, and transportation. All metrics are currently on target, and the company has an influential Environmental Management Forum. The forum is what drives through the key initiatives and ensures they are on both, The PLC Board and operating agendas.
It seems that it is not only William hill, as Kindred also made a similar announcement. It stated that it will focus on helping with climate change last October. Kindred is going to commit to reducing business traveling by thirty percent. So, it aims to reach the energy-saving targets as per the Paris Agreement

1×2 Network is expanding its reach to be a part of the Canadian gambling market. The company has achieved that after signing a deal that will see it launching its games with Loto-Quebec, the state lottery operator.
