On September 12th through the 15th, the second annual Betting on Sports conference was held in London at the Olympia conference center. This year’s conference held a new record number for the amount of industry speakers, exhibitors, and delegates that attended.
With over a 100% increase since last year, this conference had over 1,300 attendees. The Betting on Sports conference also saw a 30% growth in attendance from this year’s Betting on Football conference. Stamford Bridge hosted this year's Betting on Football conference.
Over 100 suppliers attended the expo this year in addition to just over 140 operators. Around 75 sports club executives were there as well as another 75 top affiliates in the industry.
Each delegate also received a post-conference feedback form, and so far the reviews have been outstanding. A massive 96.3% of those who have responded have mentioned that they would recommend the Betting on Sports expo to a friend or a colleague.
Last year featured 75 speakers separated into two conference rooms. With the massive increase in attendance, this year the conference housed over 180 speakers throughout three conference rooms. There were also eight main conference tracks that included industry professionals such as, the CCO of Betfred, Phil Siers. The CEO of Pinnacle, Paris Smith, was there in addition to Skybet’s CEO, Richard Flint. The chief executive officer of Mybet, Mr. Markus Peuler, also made an appearance this year.
The UK General Manager of Catena Media, Mr. Richard Gale commented on his experience saying, “The Betting on Sports conference was great, and it was a true pleasure to speak at the event. I thoroughly enjoyed it, with some great contacts/business coming out of it. Normally very skeptical of industry events to be honest, but this was the first time I’ve left wishing I’d spent more time at one!”
The conference also experienced a 200% rise in exhibitors. This year SBTech made an appearance in addition to Mr Green who are both first-time exhibitors. There were also plenty of return exhibitors including HiPay, OPTIMA, and Golden Race. These groups were also headline sponsors for the year’s first networking party held at Altitude 360.
The Managing Director of SBC expressed his excitement in the conference’s growth mentioning that, “The record level of attendance for Betting on Sports 2017 is testament to the growth of SBC Events and the support we receive from the entire sports betting industry. We were delighted to combine a lively exhibition area with the most comprehensive agenda the sector has ever seen. The hugely positive reception has given us great confidence in our planning for both next year’s event and the biggest ever Betting on Football from 20-23 March.”
