In what may not come as a surprise to many, gaming giant PokerStars has once again won the Poker Operator of the Year award at the International Gaming Awards ceremonies held in London at the Savoy Hotel. Already having three previous wins under its belt, PokerStars was given the title for a fourth consecutive time, proving its popularity and evolution in the industry. Judging for each award is conducted by an independent panel that takes many different factors into consideration, and the VP of Communications for PokerStars Eric Hollreiser has expressed the company’s pride in winning these honors yet again.
With a workforce that numbers in the thousands and millions of players around the world participating in its games, PokerStars attributes its success to a number of different factors. The company has grown its tournaments online to be richer, more improved, and on a larger scale than ever before. In addition, PokerStars is able to use its resources to focus a tremendous amount of energy on making online poker adaptable to the times and poised to expand even further.
Another element driving the success of PokerStars is its innovative Spin & Go format which was launched in October of 2014. These special tournaments are developed around a lottery-style concept and offer amazing rewards to players. In fact, the game has created 13 millionaires since its creation and skyrocketed to unmatched popularity in the entire industry as a result. During the year of 2015, PokerStars hosted the World Championship of Online Poker. This latest incarnation of the event turned out to be the biggest and most successful one yet.
